CK Vacarisses has again been proclaimed champion of the Catalan League achieving a fourth consecutive title. The strong club defended its title winning 2 games of the best-of-three series.

Successful Balkan Championship enjoyed by all participants

The third Balkan Championship and the First Balkan clubs’ tournament took place from 27 to 29 June 2008 in Blagoevgrad. The four countries participating in these two tournaments were Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Serbia. The referee of the Balkan Championships was Mr. Vaclav Kronus.

Jaap Lenstra is the new KNKV President

Jaap Lenstra (66) from Groningen has been elected as new President of the Royal Netherlands Korfball Association KNKV. he succeeds Jan-Willem Briedé who resigned after three years of fulfilling the Presidency; Briedé was elected KNKV Honorary Member.

The IKF decides to introduce a shot clock in its international competitions

The Council of the International Korfball Federation has decided to introduce a shot clock in its international competitions starting with the World Games Korfball Tournament in July 2009 in Kaohsiung, Chinese Taipei.
