New editor of the IKF magazine Korfball International and IKF Media Officer
Monday, 08 March 2010 11:31

The IKF is pleased to announce the appointment of Michel van Swieten to the joint role of editor of the IKF magazine Korfball International and IKF Media Officer, with immediate effect.

Michel lives in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and has played korfball for many years. From the age of 16 he has reported on korfball for different magazines and newspapers in The Netherlands. For the past couple of years he was editor in chief of the Royal Dutch Korfball Association (KNKV)’s magazine Korfball! He has also worked extensively with electronic media.

Michel is looking forward to his new roles.

“While I am editor, the objective of Korfball International will not change, although I will try to bring more life to stories in the magazine, for example by adding personal interviews with people from all over the world associated with our beautiful sport.

“As korfball develops around the world, it is important to spread its stories through the international community of korfballers, and to a more general audience to increase the reach that our sport enjoys,” he said.

Mr Frans Walvis, IKF senior vice president and chair of the marketing committee, welcomed the appointment.

"Michel is very experienced. He has many creative ideas to further improve the promotion of korfball. His previous experience demonstrates his strength in developing content and he is skilled in publishing this on the various platforms IKF supports, both printed and electronic. Multi media publications are the future for worldwide korfball. We wish Michel all the best in his new roles and we look forward to supporting him as he further increases awareness of korfball,” he said.
